Kickin' It Up A Notch.........

Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to photograph a press conference and subsequent TV filming of a food tasting/critique and a cooking demonstration for an upcoming new Cooking Channel Series called Emeril's Florida.....yes, Chef Emeril Lagasse was in our area yesterday promoting his new series to be aired very soon (watch for it...)

Hosted by Deputy Director David Downing of the Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Area Tourism and Convention Bureau and the Director of Food & Beverage, Jonathan Pelletier of the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, it was an outstanding morning. Chef Lagasse and Executive Chef Steve from the Sandpearl critiqued food prepared by Steve and his staff at the Sandpearl and then did a short cooking demonstration of one of Florida's prime fish, the Grouper.
I was ecstatic being able to both photograph and meet Chef Lagasse (I've been a fan of his cuisine and style for years). A most enjoyable and fun morning, thanks all ! BAM !!!!

Christmas & Holiday Season is Upon Us......

In light of all the crazy things happening in this strange world we are living in these days, let us try to remember the REAL reason for the season, help those in need, give what we can (in any way) to those that don't have as much as us, to all the troops away from home yet again and may they be finally home by next Christmas/Holiday Season and to celebrate what has been given to us, even as little and insignificant is may seem, there definately are those who have less than us....

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays......may the New Year be more peaceful, productive and happier for all......

Farewell to Living Room Live....

Last night, Thursday May 31, 2012 marked the conclusion of a magical, eclectic, happy, sad, invigorating, reminiscent 3-year journey at the Hideaway Cafe & Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Owners John & Nicole Kelly took an empty storefront on Central Avenue in the Grand Central District and transformed it into a place where local musicians, regardless of age, experience or affiliation or genre came every week to practice, try out new material, play with fellow musicians/singer/songwriter's or just to hangout in "the living room" which it truly felt like both in decor and feel.

It has been embraced by so many, and the "regulars" ( you know who you are)  appreciate it even more than the countless numbers that have walked through the doors from all walks of life and locations in this wide world because it is "home" to all of us.

So thank you John & Nicole and the many people who also worked and volunteered there and served us so many delicious meals and snacks, a few cold beers and tasteful glasses of wine, not to mention friendship and love. You all have gained our love and respect.

We look forward to the next chapter of the Hideaway Cafe.....where music is always the main entree....see 'ya soon.
